What it means to be 'on time'

This is a concept that many in Denmark seem to have missed somewhere along the line.  If your class starts at 9 am, you should be there well before 9 am (if you have to set up computers, etc), or just before if you have to grab a seat and pull out a pen & paper.

Nothing pisses me off more than to hear 'I'll be there at "X" time" and then they show up 2 hours later.  Seriously, is it that difficult to plan your time?  You have a cell phone, don't I deserve at least a call to say, "Hey, I'm sorry but we're running late, we'll arrive at Y instead of X."

I arrived here at class at the KU Farma building today at 5 minutes before 9, picked a chair close to a power outlet and got my shit set up.  Over the next 30 minutes, people kept trickling in (while the lecture was lecturing us - rapidly, I might add) and asking ME to move so they could sit and/or sit next to me in the row.

Now, I left my house at 6:50 am to get here for 9.  I took a bus to the station, the train into Copenhagen, and then another bus that dropped me off at the building. These kids LIVE in the city and they can't get their lazy asses out of bed on time? Jesus that pisses me off.

So now, I'm not moving. My ass is a fixture in this seat and they can just find somewhere else to sit, or bugger off.
