All the news that's fit to print...

We've had a very nice Christmas so far, and I'm relaxing in the recliner watching the snow fall outside the window. It's very soothing, just to watch the flakes tumbling down onto the ground, covering it in a pristine white.

Matthias is taking his nap with Hubby, and Vanessa and Morgan are up watching a House MD marathon. Tonight the plan is to make philly cheesesteaks for our New Year's Eve snacks.

I've got some extra raspberries and blueberries, so I'll most likely make a berry cake bar for dessert - between Hubby and my brother Michael, they've managed to polish off all the deserts we had around the house for Christmas week.

Nessa and I have spoken about her college plans - she most likely will be going to K-State University for marine biology/zoology. She also wants to sing in their choir - and she'll be getting scholarships for both singing and schooling.

She's confessed that she really wants to live in the dorms and I don't blame her in the least - college should be about testing your wings and learning how to function as an adult in society. I also know that she's looking forward to being out from her stepmother's thumb.

Hubby and I have told her that we support her decision for where she wants to go and what she wants to study - I've been telling her that for years - she needs to study what will interest her and make HER happy. As long as she's happy with what she does, I'm happy with what she does. It's not about the money - at least it shouldn't be.

My brother Mike has been having a good time with Matthias, as you can see.

The family's been by for a dinner together and to see the baby - they're all amazed with how big he is, and they love that he's a happy baby.
